23/01/24 We are very pleased to announce our next two performances: on October 4 & 5 will be back at Amherst School with our annual concert, this time called ACT One, Live And Loud, and in May next year we will be presenting the full stage version of "Disney's The Little Mermaid" with a full orchestra.

17/05/22 - Well, that's the end of another fantastic show - Aladdin Jr - and our first show back for 24 mths. But what a show it was. Fabulous singing dancing costumes and scenery. We also said goodbye to Alex after 7 years. We will miss you! Have a fantastic time in all you do in the future.

27/03/22 - We were very pleased to hear that one of our former members, Joe Harrison, under his stage name of Noah Harrison, has been cast as Roger in the new West End production of Grease. We are very proud of you!

31/10/21 We are also extremely pleased to announce our next 2 performances - Yes, ACT One are back performing!! - first with our amazing "Christmas Cracker" concert at Christchurch Methodist Church on December 11 this year and next year we are performing the stunning Disney's "Aladdin Jr", all being well back at our old home, Iveshead Theatre.

08/05/2021 - 25 years ago ACT One gave it's first performance - a concert called "Encore", at Hind Leys College in Shepshed. Happy Silver Anniversary ACT One!!
16/04/2021 Following the UK's 3rd lockdown, we are very pleased to announce that ACT One is back in the rehearsal room at Christchurch, albeit still under government regulations, but we hope to be able toannounce details of our next amazing performance dates soon.
01/09/2020 We have now officially cancelled our "Curtain Up" Concert but we are working with Christchurch to return to our rehearsal venue soon.
24/03/2020 Unfortunately, due to the continued disruption caused by the outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), it is with great sadness that we have to announce the postponement of our forthcoing concert, "Curtain Up", due to be performed on 3 & 4 July. We have suspended our rehearsals until further notice and will announce new performance dates as soon as we are able. Thank you for all your continued support.

*** URGENT IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ***
Due to the current outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) we are following the
Public Health England and Department For Education Guidelines, and particularly
the ongoing safety of our members at this time. As such, and after difficult
discussions and consultations, we have unfortunately decided to suspend all ACT
One rehearsals at least until the Easter break. THERE ARE THEREFORE NO
REHEARSALS ON 20 MARCH, 27 MARCH OR 3 APRIL. We hope to provide you with further
information about rehearsals soon, so please keep an eye on email and the
Facebook and Social media sites for this. This may mean we might have to bring
in additional rehearsal time to catch up and ensure the concert is ready for the
beginning of July. Please try and make sure that you all go over the dances that
have already been set and listen to the music files on the member's page of the
website as this will greatly help us all when we get back to rehearsing again.

03/12/2019 Congratulations to Bella, who was our Annie in 2017, who has just picked up an individual Young Performers BAFTA for Mildred in Worst Witch, and she also voices Hilda which won best animation - What an amazing achievement.
14/11/2019 Congratulations to former members Craig Nash, Richard Carson & Charlotte Whittle, all of whom have landed some great professional theatre jobs. Craig joins the touring production of "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas"; Richard is going into the West End new production of "Les Miserables" as ensemble and first cover Javert, and Charlotte is dancing her way in the touring production of The Bowie Collective. We are extremely proud of you all!

09/07/2019 Following a fantastic summer concert, "Heart & Soul", we sadly had to say goodbye to four of our most loyal and long-standing members, Izzy, Katie & Nikki, now that they have reached the end of year 13, and Oli, who allegedly has been with us since he was about 3 - well it seems like it. We wish all 4 of them the very best for the future.

03/02/2019 Following a fantastic show week with "Anything Goes", we sadly had to say goodbye to one of our long-standing members Livs after 8 years with ACT One. She has played several leading roles with the group, including Reno in "Anything Goes". We wish her well with her further music studies at University. Also leaving the fold is Ryan, albeit a little earlier, and we also wish him the very best!

24/04/2016 Christchurch Methodist Church in Shepshed where we rehearse has being undergoing renovations recently and are holding an open day on 21st May. We have been asked to take part and provide 1/2 hour snippet of what we do. This is at 2pm and everyone is welcome to come along to support and have a look round the new building. There is also a rededication service at 6pm on Sun 22 May at the church - everyone is welcome.

Weighing in at 8lb 15oz, baby & mum are doing very well - the first true ACT One baby!! Oh and Dazman is pretty happy too as is Wendy who is now a Nanny! We'll look out for your audition in 2025!
